By Annie Wong | July 21, 2008
“The Dark Knight” has already won the critics this weekend and beat the box office of te “Spiderman” and it’s first week. Now to further their promotion, Warner Brothers are going to push the movie out to IMAX.
For the first time, a major studio release has been partially shot using IMAX cameras. “The Dark Knight” included six sequences that were filmed with IMAX cameras, included the opening six minutes.
Individual IMAX theatres are also ramping up the marketing. Moviegoers who see the most showings during the 75-hour blitz will win T-shirts, posters, IMAX free tickets and concession-stand coupons for drinks, candy and popcorn.
